Homecoming provided a time when hundreds of friends and fans came together to celebrate our work and help raise families out of poverty. In existence for more than a century, today SMF is a catalyst for healthy families and thriving communities. Each guest helped to pay child care costs for full-time college students, and ensure their children are safe while the students focus on studies. Whether bidding on auction items, winning raffles or playing games, you all enjoyed an evening of fun, friends and fundraising.
Kiro’s Amy Clancy, joined us for a second year, and we all enjoyed our renowned Keynote Speaker, National Geographic Bestselling Author, Helen Thayer, who captured hearts with her inspiring tales of exploration and the fact that “Quitting is Not an Option” in her line of business, nor in the lives of our recipient families.
Sharing her travels, we all felt as though we were on the journey with her and Charlie. Helen opened minds and hearts to the bravery and challenges our families face when taking on the feats of higher education while supporting their families with low incomes. Thank you for helping families to succeed!
