For immediate release:
Seattle Milk Fund was
proud to gather at the Seattle Golf and
Country Club on Saturday, February 10th
to commemorate 100 years of service to
the Seattle community. Seattle
Milk Fund grant recipient, Lyda Fong,
shared touching words about the impact
of Seattle Milk Fund on her and her 2
children's lives. Joy Goodenough,
a past Seattle Milk Fund president gave
a touching address on her long
involvement in the organization.
The featured speaker, Phil Smart, gave
his compelling and motivating speech
titled "The Third Eight" which
references to choices people can make to
help others in the 8 hours of the day
not spent working or sleeping.
Sheila Airis, the current president
welcomed everyone and acknowledged all
of the hard work of past presidents and
the event committee. Event
organizer Karl Uri was thanked for his
efforts in pulling this event off so
nicely.
This event is merely the beginning of
the Seattle Milk Fund centennial and
there is still a lot of time to get
involved in this celebration.
Please see our calendar of upcoming
events here,
consider making a centennial year
donation here
and review the many volunteer
opportunities we have to offer
here.
Seattle Milk Fund would be honored to
have just a little of your "Third
Eight".
